GreenEsteem at the Green Rings of Polish Cities Conference
On 2 December 2025, the conference “Green Rings of Polish Cities” was held at the Senate of the Republic of Poland. It was attended by representatives of residents and non-governmental organizations, science, local governments, institutions of broadly understood nature conservation, spatial planning and urban planning, and others.
The GreenEsteem project was represented by AMU (Katarzyna Fagiewicz, Lidia Poniลผy) who – together with the sister projects Integrate NBS, NatureScape and others – prepared a poster exhibition highlighting the role of ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ป ๐ฐ๐ถ๐๐ ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐ ๐ฎ๐ ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ-๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฆ๐ผ๐น๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ (๐ก๐๐ฆ) supporting contemporary urban policy.
Green city rings (green belts and green rings) are not just planning concepts – they are a powerful example of Nature-Based Solutions at a landscape scale.
By protecting and restoring natural and semi-natural ecosystems around cities (forests, river valleys, wetlands, agricultural land),ย ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ป ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐ ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐น๐ ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ด๐ฒ๐:
